Create an Account for Students & Educators

If you are a student, educator, Autodesk sponsored design competition mentor, or educational institution, you can create an account with the Education Community to obtain access to Autodesk software.

I don’t have an Autodesk Account or an Education Account

If you are new to Autodesk and have not created an account, you need to create an Autodesk Account and sign in to the Education Community and set up your profile to get free access to software licenses.

To create an Autodesk Account and Education Account:

1. Verify you qualify for an Education account at Who is Eligible for Free Educational Licenses?
2. Visit the Autodesk Education Community website and click Sign In under the Sign In menu.
3. Click Create Account on the Autodesk Sign in screen.
4. Complete the Get Education Benefits form and click Next.

Country – Select the country where your educational institution is located

Educational role – Select one of the following:

  • A Qualified Educational Institution is a school whose primary purpose is to teach enrolled students. See: Which Educational Institutions Qualify for Free Software from Autodesk?
  • A student is an individual enrolled as a student at a Qualified Educational Institution.
  • An educator is an employee or independent contractor who works for a Qualified Educational Institution and needs to install software for personal educational use. If you also install software in a classroom or lab on behalf of your educational institution, choose this category, not the IT Administrator category.
  • An IT Administrator is an employee or independent contractor who is responsible only for installing software for multiple users at a Qualified Educational Institution.
  • A Mentor is someone who gives guidance, advice, coaching, or instruction to competitors in an Autodesk sponsored design competition.

Date of birth – Select Month, Day, and Year.

5. Complete the Create account form and click Create Account to continue:

  • First name
  • Last name
  • Email address
  • Confirm email address
  • Password
  • Terms of Service — Click the box next to I agree to . . . to accept the Terms of Service.

6. Visit the email address listed on the Verification required screen and open the email message titled Verify your Autodesk Account.

Note: If you don’t receive the verification email within a few minutes, check your Spam or junk folder.

7. Click Verify Email in the email message to activate your account.
8. Enter your email address on the Sign in screen and click Next. Your email program should automatically open your browser and take you to the Sign in screen.
9. Enter your password on the Welcome screen and click Sign In.
10. Click Done on the Account verified screen.
11. Complete the information about your educational institution and area and term of study on the Just One More Step screen and click Next.
12. Click Continue on the Account set screen.

You are now ready to Sign In to the Education Community and Download and Install Education Products.

I have an Autodesk Account but never signed in to the Education Community

If you already have an Autodesk Account, you need to use your account email address and password to sign in to the Education Community and set up your profile to get free access to software licenses.

To use your Autodesk Account to create an Education Account:

1. Verify you qualify for an Education account at Who is Eligible for Free Educational Licenses?
2. Visit the Autodesk Education Community website and click Sign In under the Sign In menu.
3. Enter your Autodesk Account email address and password on the Autodesk Sign in screen.
4. Verify your email address if prompted.

  • Click Get Verification Email on the Verification screen.
  • Visit the email address listed on the Verification required screen and open the email message titled Verify your Autodesk Account.
  • Note: If you don’t receive the verification email within a few minutes, check your Spam or junk folder.
  • Enter your email address on the Sign in screen and click Next. Your email program should automatically open your browser and take you to the Sign in screen.
  • Enter your password on the Welcome screen and click Sign In.
  • Click Done on the Account verified screen.
  • Return to the the Autodesk Education Community website and and select the Autodesk product you wish to download and use.
  • Click Sign in under I have an account on the product screen.
  • Enter your email address and password again on the Sign in screens.

5. Complete the Set Up Your Education Profile form and click Next.

Country – Select the country where your educational institution is located.

Educational role – Select one of the following:

6. Complete the information about your educational institution, area and term of study on the One More Step screen and click Next.
7. Click Continue on the Account set screen.
8. Click the box next to I agree to . . . on the Terms of Service page and click Continue.

You are now ready to Download and Install Education Products.
